CXC have provided Control System Integration software development and support, for numurous projects including the R02 Resin Mixing Facility, and Solvent Tank Farm.
The operational safety constraints placed on chemical manufacturers are very stringent and are governed by numerous government regulations including ATEX Directive and DSEAR Regulations.
SOLVAY had a requirement to relocate plant assets from its site in Manchester to another site in Wrexham, both in ATEXs environments.
The key challenge was to move the equipment in a specific timeframe due to high dependency.
CXControls were engaged to provide site investigations and design safety interlocks to ensure the safe shutdown of all flammable material transfer operations in the event of site wide fire alarms.
The solution utilised safety PLC hardware and software modifications to the existing system and plant recommissioning.
